Hi, I'm Linh!

Founder of Chai Revolution. I was born in Vietnam and grew up in Germany – two cultures that couldn't be more different. I love both deeply and am infinitely grateful to have grown up in such a diverse environment. This ingrained duality somehow ran through my entire life. I studied physics and English, enjoy fencing and singing, am very rational yet loving. Even though all these things seem to be opposites, I believe that this is exactly what makes a human being – capable of so much and infinitely curious.

I spent most of my life in science – more precisely, in solar physics. I did my PhD in England, was a visiting researcher in Colombia, and then worked in Spain.

At 35, I founded Chai Revolution.

Yes, something completely different. At least it seems that way.

Chai Revolution - an expression of my person and my values.

I love food. My sister once said, "Linh, I don't know anyone who loves food as much as you do!" And indeed, my love for it is hard to beat. Above all, I love the diversity of food and drinks that all cultures in the world have to offer – that's how I discovered and fell in love with Masala Chai. I actually had my first truly delicious and perfectly balanced cup in Newcastle, at a Chinese tea house :) And both Newcastle and Hamburg, where I now live, have perfect chai weather, because winter here practically extends throughout the whole year :)

I also deeply love and appreciate my health, and I always keep the words of the German philosopher Arthur Schopenhauer as a guiding principle in my mind:

'Health is not everything, but without health, everything is nothing.'

Because I know that no matter what I achieve or create, alone or with my loved ones, I won't be able to enjoy or even experience it if I'm not healthy. And I think it's just a beautiful feeling to be healthy and fit every day :)

Chai Revolution was born out of this way of life and passion.

My mission is based on the conviction that true health begins with love and appreciation for one's own body and life, and that enjoyment is also part of a beautiful life – I want to sustainably combine both. The spices in my chai are really good for the body, warm from within, and taste so delicious that I always have chai in my fridge.

Even as a small child, giving and sharing food was a sign of love for me; my mom always gave us the best and was happy to do without. And so, I also love to share everything I love with my friends and always made chai when they visited. Many didn't even know chai, at least not how it can really taste, but they fell in love immediately!

The demand from my friends was always high, and in retrospect, I became aware of my own frustration: finding good quality chai with real spices and flavor and without sugar: simply impossible! Especially in cafes.

I want to change that with Chai Revolution.

I want to honor authentic, truly delicious chai, its origin and culture, and make its true taste known.

I believe that chai deserves more than its reputation as a syrup and powder (with up to 77% sugar!).
I also believe that everyone deserves to be able to decide for themselves and better how much sugar they consume. My wish is to make these decisions easier for people. Through better options and education.

Why my chai comes in liquid form - and without sugar.

Time is a precious commodity, and we all seem to have too little of it. I had given my friends the recipe once, because they seemed unable to live without chai, but they quickly found the effort too much! Since I still wanted to make them happy, I then pre-brewed the chai, and they only had to add milk at home.

That's how Chai Revolution became what it is today - carefully pre-brewed tea with the best spices and ready in seconds. The best possible taste in the shortest possible preparation time for you.

My vision extends beyond that: to bring more health and flavor and less sugar into the world, so that all people can stay healthy and realize their lives and dreams both physically and emotionally.

Starting in Hamburg and out into the wide world. Because there's nothing like our Chai Revolution anywhere in Europe (at least according to my research).
